Experiences with Maha Periyava
Experiences with Maha Periyava: Guru and Ambal are one!
There was a foreign lady from Europe who did not know anything about Kanchipuram or Sri Maha Periyava. She dreamt twice or thrice about a Lady in green saree with elaborate ornaments blessing her and asking her to come and see her. Confused, she discussed about it with her sister who was doing PhD in Pune, India. Her sister realised that such a person could be seen only in India as Indians have many Gods and Goddesses and that it was an Indian Lady who appeared in her dreams and asked her to come to India and try to search for this Lady in Green saree and ornaments! She saved some money and came to India and visited a lot of places and temples but unfortunately could not see the Lady who came in her dreams. Eventually she reached Kalavai. MahaSwamigal was there. The girl wanted to tell about her dream to Him. Her car guide requested a Matham devotee about her wish to have a private audience wth Sri Maha Periyava. The devotee informed Him of her wish. Periyava agreed to give her darshan after completing his anushtanams. He asked her to come near the well in the backyard. She went there with a lady guide for the darshan. Sri Maha Periyava came and gave her darshan! She saw Him for a few minutes and immediately swooned and fell down.
People gathered there sprinkled water on her face to revive her. She was alright after an hour. When asked what had happened she said, “I saw the same Lady of my dreams with the same ornaments in Him!” All the way from Kashmir to Cape Comorin (Kanyakumari) and today, she had the darshan of the Lady who came in her dream all the time! I am extremely happy now and want to leave. Sri Maha Periyava gave her an apple as prasadam and she left later. On the subsequent day, during a conversation with a sanyasi at the Matham, Periyava asked about Mooka Panchashati. Mookar has said similarly in his Panchashati, Kundali Kumari Kutali... that Ambal resides in Guru Swaroopam'! Periyava then asked about the last line in Arya Sadakam. It was recited. Sri Maha Periyava then explained that Guru and Ambal are the same and said, “This is the darshan she had the other day”.
