Periyava Golden Quotes
Rukmangadan made all his subjects observe Ekadasi Vrata. Therefore, it is said in Narada Purana that the people not only advanced in Bhakti and Gnana, but were also hale and healthy.
It is not only the Kings of the highest order. There was one devotee by name Kaisikan, belonging to the untouchables. He is also well-known because of observance of Ekadasi. Vaishnavas have named one Ekadasi itself as ‘Kaisika Ekadasi’. – Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Swamigal
On Vaikuntha ekadashi let us remember olden words told by Mahaswami on Mahavishnu,
Once while camping, people were mumbling about mosquito menace, Swamigal smiled and said that Mahavishnu and Mosquitoes are one and the same in some ways!
Seeing people surprised, Swamigal said, Perumal holds the Sudarshan chakra that keeps spinning continuously, similarly a Mosquito keeps spinning around continuously!
Periyava went on to say: Mahavishnu plays with Shruti or the Vedas while a mosquito plays around our shrutis or ears!
What beautiful word play,
Periyava concluded by saying that Mahavishnu is in everything including a mosquito so if we remember that it is him who has come in this form, we can sleep peacefully without getting angry or irritated at the animal!
What beautiful advaita!
Jaya jaya shankara hara hara shankara!
